Frenchy Paints “Grace at the Race” in Louisville

Frenchy was on hand for this year’s Grace at the Race event in Louisville, Kentucky. This Derby Week celebration is aimed at honoring three people from the corporate, sports and entertainment sectors for their commitment and contributions to community service. The whole thing raises money for Louisville based non-profits that focus on at risk kids.

Frenchy produced two paintings for this year’s event. The first was a studio painting of local basketball legend and key sponsor of the event, Junior Bridgeman.  Sherman Brown, founder of Grace at the Race, presented this painting to Junior as a personal gift for his tireless efforts in the community .

The second was was a live painting featuring last year’s Kentucky Derby winner “I’ll Have Another” together with the three honorees of the event: Ken Griffey Jr, Lynn Merrit (Sr. VP of Marketing NIKE Basketball) and Emil Brolick (CEO of Wendys).

Grace at the Race ended up raising over $100k iand Frenchy’s live painting auctioned off for $21,000. Proceeds from the event are donated to the Boys and Girls Club of America.
